How do I make a reservation with Interrail/Eurail?

If you have an Interrail/Eurail as a paper ticket, you need to contact the retailer you purchased the card from to make a seat reservation.

To make a seat reservation with a mobile pass you can register your Interrail/Eurail Pass in the first step of the booking.

Please note that you need to be able to show your valid Interrail or Eurail card together with the seat reservation on the train.

Enter the journey you are planning to do and click on Traveller. Choose Travels with travel card and then Interrail or Eurail for each traveller. Enter your Interrail/Eurail Card number*.  You then continue all steps through the booking flow.

You need to book every traveller as an adult regardless the age. It is the same price for each traveller.

The image shows the "Search journey" section on a train booking website. The user can select the trip type (One-way or Round trip), departure date (set to Today, 27 February), and enter departure and destination locations. Under Travellers, there is one listed: “Traveller 1 – Adult, no additions”, with a red arrow pointing to this option, indicating it can be clicked to customize options (e.g. pets or travel card). There's also a button to “Add traveller”. At the bottom, there's a green “Search journey” button.

You can travel to and from the border, or port/airport, if you have an Interrail Global Pass, Flexible or Consecutive. You need to be able to present your Interrail or Eurail card together with your seat reservation.

Can I book a private sleeping compartment with Interrail/Eurail?

1 class
If you are travelling with 1 class Interrail/Eurail, you can book a 1 class private sleeping compartment.

2 class
It is only possible to book separate seats when travelling in 2 class.

If there are as many travellers as beds in the compartment, you need to select the seat option Bed in sleeping compartment or Berth in couchette to get the discount. If there are beds in the same compartment, you will be seated together.

If there are fewer travellers than beds, you will pay the regular price if you want to book a private sleeping compartment.

*When traveling with a mobile pass, the Interrail pass can be found in the Eurrail/Interrail Rail Planner app. Verification Number which is the mobile passnumber and is a six-digit code that can contain both numbers and letters (example XT502R).
